Another weekend another Studio Colorido film on Netflix! This one was very good!
Drifting Home (雨を告げる漂流団地, Ame wo Tsugeru Hyōryū Danchi, lit. 'Drifting Apartment that Announces Rain’) is a 2022 Japanese animated coming-of-age fantasy adventure comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Hiroyasu Ishida. Produced by Studio Colorido, the film was released simultaneously in Japanese theaters and on Netflix on September 16, 2022.
I watched this tonight on Netflix and definitely would recommend it! It had a lot of little Spirited Away inspirations and felt a little bit like Suzume! “Oni” means a kind of a demon creature in Japanese. The same studio made Penguin Highway, A Whisker Away and Drifting Home also on Netflix!
